The Oakhill College extension features the remarkable Innovation Hub and Hilltop Precinct, which offers cutting-edge educational facilities for the whole school community.
DCWC is proud to have provided full-service Quantity Surveying services throughout the project, from master planning through to the Defects Liability period.
The project transformed the campus, featuring the re-landscaping of the Hilltop Precinct into a central hub for learning and collaboration. Teaching spaces now open onto a vibrant central learning precinct, connecting all buildings with covered walkways, new hard surfaces, green areas, and ramped access to lower levels. Outdoor collaboration and learning spaces have been integrated into the landscaping, enhancing the overall campus experience.
A standout feature is the new three-storey Innovation Hub, a 4200m2 mass timber structure designed with Passivhaus principles. This cutting-edge facility offers 16 new General Learning Spaces across three levels, including Fabrication and Wet Labs on every floor, computer labs, preparation areas, and a staff room. It also includes a large undercover open space for student use, supporting flexible learning and social opportunities.
DCWC was instrumental in managing the early procurement of a timber specialist to mitigate risks associated with importing the mass timber components, ensuring seamless delivery of the hybrid construction strategy. From pre-contract planning to post-contract services, DCWC played a critical role in delivering this innovative project that expands Oakhill College’s technology and learning offerings.
