Opening on time for Term 1 2019, Prahran High School welcomed its first year 7 students to the impressive new campus. The innovative vertical school is situated next to an existing educational precinct, which includes Melbourne Polytechnic.
Donald Cant Watts Corke provided Project Management Services for the new campus, one of the first vertical schools delivered by the Victorian Government.
DCWC also project managed an early works package which involved the demolition of an existing building on the site.
Prahran High School is a co-educational facility which will accommodate 650 students. The 9,200 square metre school encompasses five levels of learning space for design, art, technology and science. The unique design responds to a comparatively tight site in an urban area. Outdoor spaces are included at roof level and on balconies to enhance the opportunities for sport and learning.
