Managing Director, Infrastructure

Congratulations are in order for our very own Phoebe Jamieson, who on Friday 4 November received a special commendation at the 2022 NAWIC Vic Awards for Excellence!

Last Friday, the women of DCWC’s Victorian Project Management team swapped their MacPacs for evening gowns and attended the Victorian chapter of NAWIC’s 2022 awards.

The awards provide the hardworking ladies of construction and related industries a night to come together, network with industry peers, and, most importantly, celebrate the women in the industry leading by example, championing change, and empowering their peers in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

This year, the Donald Cant Watts Corke table cheered on PM Phoebe, nominated for the Multiplex Young Achiever Award, and for which she was honoured with a special commendation recognising her enormous drive and passion for the industry.

The awards committee especially noted how this has translated into a visible and consistent commitment to mentoring students and newcomers to the project management field.

Of this special honour, Phoebe says,

“It was such an honour to be nominated, let alone take home a commendation amongst so many other inspirational women.

I look forward to many more years in the industry, and can’t wait to continue to guide young women through the industry with the support of the entire DCWC team, to whom I’m very grateful.”

Belinda Nash, a Director of the Victorian Project Management unit, says of Phoebe's commendation and the role NAWIC plays in strengthening women’s participation in the industry,

"We’re thrilled Phoebe’s spirit of giving back has been recognised by NAWIC, a group we’re proud to support. Each year, we’re all so blown away by the women in our industry they recognise – all providing such worthwhile contributions to industry culture, while also delivering outstanding project work.

Phoebe’s commendation is evidence of the impact she’s already had on the industry so early in her career, and I’m excited to continue to support her, and all the fantastic, hard-working ladies in our team as they continue to deliver excellent projects and encourage more young women to join our dynamic industry."

Donald Cant Watts Corke congratulates all of this year's NAWIC nominees and winners across the country, and is proud to continue to support and participate in an ongoing move towards greater, more visible diversity in the sector.
