Stage 1 of the new Wentworth Point High School has reached practical completion and is ready to welcome its first cohort of year 7 students in term 1.
This innovative, six-storey facility has been designed to accommodate up to 1,530 students, providing state-of-the-art spaces to foster academic and creative growth. Among its features are specialised spaces for science, visual and performing arts, industrial kitchens, food technology and a dedicated movement studio. Additional facilities include a library, landscaped playgrounds, a canteen, an outdoor workshop and areas tailored for wood and metalwork.
DCWC was integral to the project, serving as Quantity Surveyors to ensure cost efficiency and compliance with planning and educational guidelines. Our early involvement and collaboration with School Infrastructure NSW helped deliver this ambitious project on budget and to exacting standards.
Planning is underway for stage 2 of the high school, with construction scheduled to start in early 2025. This phase will include a multipurpose hall for sports and performances, new outdoor areas, game courts, updated canteen facilities, and a sports field that will be accessible to the community outside school hours with expected completion mid-2026.
