DCWC is playing a crucial role as the Project Manager for the redevelopment of the T2 Departures Retail precinct at Melbourne Airport.

The project is located in the heart of the international terminal, with scope that includes both a new build construction and new fit-out of existing terminal buildings. The works bridge between airfield and security constrained sterile terminal areas with 24/7 operations, creating a highly complex construction environment that DCWC are helping Melbourne Airport navigate to deliver the project successfully.

DCWC’s leadership ensures the project will meet Melbourne Airport’s stakeholder expectations, program and budget drivers, and functional requirements, with a procurement and delivery approach that mitigates operational impacts and passenger inconvenience.

With DCWC's expertise, the project aims to elevate the overall traveller experience by expanding the retail footprint and enhancing engagement throughout the precinct. The development is set to meet the following design and performance criteria:

  • The Retail precinct will encourage travellers to take a moment during their departure journey to make the most of the fantastic retail offerings.
  • The offerings will rival or surpass those of other premier facilities.
  • Inclusivity and connectivity will be prioritised across all project zones.
  • Strict compliance with aviation regulations and operational standards will be upheld.
  • Duty-Free services will be available to 100% of travellers.
