DCWC provided Project Management and Cost Planning Services for the Journal Uni Place development at 16-32 Leicester Street, Carlton.  


Now branded Scape Uni Square, this modern student accommodation facility is located in Melbourne’s vibrant Carlton suburb, just a short 10-minute walk from both the University of Melbourne (Parkville Campus) and RMIT University (City Campus). This impressive property features 804 beds spread across 718 apartments and self-contained studio rooms over 16 levels, setting a new standard for student living.

 

Designed by Metier3 and constructed by Icon, Uni Square boasts state-of-the-art shared spaces, including a welcoming internal courtyard, a fully equipped commercial kitchen, a library, and various recreational areas such as a gymnasium. The building also includes retail space and a reception area, enhancing the overall experience for residents.

Completed in 2019 and reaching up to 16 floors, Uni Square offers a variety of room types, including shared rooms, en-suite rooms, and studios to meet diverse preferences. Each accommodation is designed for comfort, featuring cozy beds by the window with built-in storage, full-size kitchen appliances, spacious private bathrooms, and high-speed internet access. Secure entry is facilitated through a convenient app. Residents also enjoy a range of amenities, such as a gym, game room, pool table, table tennis, table football, cinema room, outdoor lounge, and a courtyard, ensuring a fulfilling and enjoyable living environment.
