Department for Education South Australia has allocated a significant amount of financial investment towards the upgrade of several Primary and Secondary Schools across South Australia.
The completed Grant High School redevelopment provides learning areas more suited for the delivery of contemporary pedagogy to improve learning outcomes for all students.
Donald Cant Watts Corke was commissioned by the Department for Education, South Australia (DFE) delivery partner, Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) to undertake our full suite of cost management services from cost planning at concept stage through to construction completion.
This redevelopment delivered the following:
Grant High School is located approximately 440km (4.5 hours) away from Adelaide. DFE and DIT were expecting a cost burden associated with undertaking a development such as this outside of the standard metropolitan area. They engaged our Adelaide team due to our recent and relevant experience in the region to accurately manage the costs and associated risks for them.
Donald Cant Watts Corke is pleased to advise that our Adelaide team with their robust cost models and benchmark cost data from in and around the Mount Gambier region coupled with their local market intel and connection to contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers were able to cost manage this project within the fixed funding allocation.
