The Atlantic Fellows for Social Equity (AFSE) offers a fellowship program aimed at strengthening Indigenous-led social equity across Australia, Aotearoa and Pacific Island nations.

The program is hosted by the University of Melbourne and represents a 20-year commitment to supporting Indigenous-led social change through a network of Fellows.

DCWC provided Project Management services for the AFSE facility, which involved the fit out of 1,600 m² to create a central Hub for AFSE staff and students to facilitate their activities. The project scope included an Indigenous-led engagement process that employed culturally appropriate methods to gather and document feedback from AFSE’s key stakeholders and the University’s Indigenous community. This engagement and consultation with  staff, AFSE fellows, and Traditional Owners. The DCWC team worked closely with JCB Architects who designed the facility to ensure cultural safety and appropriateness in the design, development, and operation of the Hub.

This project was successfully delivered within the New Student Precinct initiative with DCWC valuing the engagement process with representatives from key Indigenous organisations and university stakeholders.
