The St John of God redevelopment significantly bolsters the hospital’s capacity to provide top-tier medical and surgical care to the local regional community.
DCWC delivered comprehensive cost management services for the redevelopment of St John of God Ballarat, a complex project that significantly enhances the hospital's capacity and infrastructure. The redevelopment involved constructing a new five-level healthcare facility atop an existing car park, seamlessly integrated with the current hospital. The project included demolishing the existing entry and foyer, removing hazardous materials, disposing of contaminated soil, and upgrading the site’s service infrastructure.
The new facility enhances the hospital’s services with a 30-bed inpatient unit, a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Coronary Care Unit (CCU), and two state-of-the-art operating theatres designed for advanced surgical procedures, along with additional shell spaces for future expansion. Other improvements feature a refurbished catheterisation laboratory (Cathlab), a Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD), and upgraded recovery areas.
This transformation enables St John of God Healthcare to meet the evolving needs of the Ballarat community and the region’s growing population. The modernised facilities ensure the hospital continues to provide exceptional healthcare services, supported by new and advanced medical infrastructure.
