Donald Cant Watts Corke’s very own Sunny Kalidas, Senior Project Manager, has been recognised as a finalist for the 2023 Women in Industry, Rising Star of the Year Award. Sunny is one of seven finalists in this category which celebrates individuals who have demonstrated significant promise in their chosen industry. Spanning her six-year career, Sunny truly is a rising star amongst her peers. Successfully transitioning from engineering geology to construction project management earlier in her career, Sunny has worked on complex civil and rail infrastructure projects across Auckland, Vanuatu, London and Melbourne. Sunny’s achievements go well beyond a construction site.
At Donald Cant Watts Corke, she has been instrumental in the creation of a monthly young professionals networking night to encourage future leaders to connect in a casual, inclusive and diverse forum. Now a partnership across eight companies in the industry, each event focuses on a relevant theme to facilitate the growth of these aspiring leaders. Having successfully championed for the employment of more female graduates during her career, Sunny has also positioned herself as a mentor in the development and empowerment of females in the construction industry.
Sunny is joined by 61 other finalists across 10 categories. Donald Cant Watts Corke wishes all these incredible women the best of luck! The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, the 8 June 2023 in Melbourne and will be attended by Sunny and colleagues at Donald Cant Watts Corke.
