Celebrating the women of DCWC for International Women's Day!

Continuing to celebrate last Friday's International Women's Day, today we draw attention to one of our emerging talents, Alyanna Rosario. A dedicated third-year student at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Alyanna is making significant strides as a Cadet Quantity Surveyor with the DCWC Queensland team.

Alyanna's passion for mathematics and physics, coupled with her family's engineering background, steered her towards a career in Quantity Surveying. Securing a cadetship at DCWC, she has been able to apply theory to real-life projects, with mentors playing a key role in her growth.

Alyanna brings resilience and adaptability to her work, skillfully juggling studies, work, and personal responsibilities. Her focus on time management through prioritisation underlines her discipline and drive.

Despite the construction industry being traditionally male-dominated, Alyanna has faced no gender-related obstacles. She advocates for gender diversity and inclusion and imagines a future where women are fairly represented across all levels of the industry.

Alyanna aims to enhance her technical skills in Quantity Surveying, focusing on cost estimation, project management, and risk assessment. She believes that celebrating women's achievements can foster a more inclusive work environment.
