Murray Bridge High School Redevelopment

Murray Bridge High School Redevelopment has reached completion!

Department for Education (DFE) has allocated a significant amount of financial investment towards the upgrade of several Primary and Secondary Schools across South Australia.

Murray Bridge High School is one of those schools to undergo a redevelopment. The revitalised campus will provide students and connected community with a multi-disciplinary and contemporary learning environment that is set to improve and shape better outcomes for all.

Donald Cant Watts Corke has been commissioned by DFE’s delivery partner, Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) to undertake our full suite of cost management services from cost planning at the concept stage through to construction completion.

This project scope includes:

• Demolition of several existing DEMAC and Transportable Buildings (approximately 1,066m2), to be replaced with the two new facilities and flexible outdoor learning areas.
• A new Tech Studies Building.
• A new two-storey Middle School Building including Disability Unit and Special Needs Unit.
• Building 1 - Refurbishment of Arts Spaces on Levels 1 and 2.
• Building 3 - Refurbishment of the existing Tech Studies into an Entrepreneurial Centre.
• Building 4 - Repairs to the existing roof of the Gymnasium Building.
• Associated Site Infrastructure Upgrades and the like.

Murray Bridge High School students and staff will enjoy new General Learning facilities, a purpose-built Specialised Learning Centre and refurbishment of existing infrastructure.

The additional learning areas cater for increased enrolments and respond to existing capacity pressures. While improved facilities provide students with specialist needs with a supporting and engaging environment in an inclusive education unit.

The redevelopment designed by COX Architecture was designed with intent and inclusivity and achieves a sense of connectedness between all students, allowing them to explore and interact.

The use of natural and sustainable materials was a key consideration, while stakeholders were involved in community consultation to better inform project considerations.

The Murray Bridge High School redevelopment project was completed in late 2021.

This project forms part of DFE’s – Education Capital Works Program, we are pleased to advise that we are involved in an additional 14 school redevelopments forming part of this program.
