DCWC is thrilled to have offered Project Management services for Melbourne Connect, the University of Melbourne's cutting-edge innovation precinct.

This project is a collaboration between the University of Melbourne and a consortium led by Lendlease and includes A-grade office spaces for the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, along with co-working areas, commercial tenants, the Telstra Creator Space, Science Gallery Melbourne, retail, and a super floor featuring shared meeting and event spaces, managed by a dedicated events and engagement team. It will also accommodate 527 postgraduate students and visiting academics in purpose-built Student Accommodation.

This collaborative environment nurtures researchers, academics, students, businesses, government agencies, startups, artists, and community groups, fostering an ecosystem focused on creating innovative solutions to contemporary challenges such as climate change, food security, health, design, technology, and exploration.

The University of Melbourne, Lendlease, and all project teams have dedicated immense effort to realise Australia’s premier innovation precinct, even amidst a global pandemic and some of the toughest lockdowns worldwide.

DCWC's Project Management services extended to the new fitout for the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology across levels 1-8 of the main commercial tower, featuring open workspaces, meeting rooms, multifunctional areas, social hubs on each floor, and several dry laboratory facilities, including the state-of-the-art IxT Lab and Ux Lab.

These facilities empower researchers and students to investigate, design, and develop novel interactions with advanced technologies like motion capture, voice assistants, AR/VR, and Kinects, among others.

Our services also encompassed the Telstra Creator Space, a fabrication workshop equipped with metal and wood workshops, soldering facilities, laser cutters, 3D printing, and a test bed for ground and air drones. This space, located on the ground floor and basement of the main commercial tower, is available for use by both the University and external partners.

Furthermore, DCWC provided Project Management for the University of Melbourne Affiliate space on Level 08, now hosting the Complex Human Data Hub, Melbourne Centre for Data Science, Centre for Digital Transformation of Health, and the ARC Training Centre – OPTIMA. This facility comprises several offices, open workspaces, meeting rooms, and social spaces.

Lastly, DCWC delivered Project Management services for the Melbourne Entrepreneurial Centre, which provides a gateway to entrepreneurial opportunities within the University for students, alumni, and the general public. This includes pitch nights, hackathons, masterclasses, workshops, and various programs. The centre occupies three floors of the CLT tower in the northern part of the precinct and houses the Melbourne Accelerator Program (MAP), Translating Research at Melbourne (TRAM), and the Wade Institute of Entrepreneurship.
