DCWC is excited to have been engaged by Merri-bek City Council to provide Project Management and Superindentent services for the redevelopment of the Fawkner Leisure Centre.

This transformative project involved an extensive refurbishment and expansion of the facility, with sustainability at its core, transitioning to a fully electric operating system. Key highlights of the redevelopment include a new 50-meter outdoor multi-purpose lap pool, an outdoor leisure pool with interactive water features, and brand-new indoor spa, sauna, and steam rooms. Additionally, critical rectification work was completed on the existing 25-meter indoor pool to enhance its functionality and extend its lifespan.

A major extension has reimagined the centre, introducing a redesigned entryway with an airlock, an expanded gym with upgraded equipment, and a dedicated group program room. The revamped building now features modernised spaces such as a vibrant café, a refreshed entry foyer and reception area, upgraded gym areas, a program room, and accessible dry fitness change rooms. Staff and administrative areas have also been enhanced for greater efficiency and functionality.

Further improvements include reconfigured accessible restroom facilities, updated community health corridor amenities, and maintenance work on the existing change rooms, ensuring the entire facility meets contemporary standards.
