Edith Cowan University’s (ECU) purpose is to transform lives and enrich society through education and research. 

Edith Cowan University's ECU City is an innovative campus in the heart of Perth, set to transform the educational landscape. With a dynamic digital media façade, activated streetscapes, and immersive entrances, this campus will house world-class teaching spaces, including the renowned Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), alongside programs from the School of Business and Law, School of Arts and Humanities, and School of Science.

DCWC is providing comprehensive cost management services for this landmark development, having been involved from the outset. Their scope includes business case development, cost planning and estimating, procurement, construction financial management, and whole-of-life project management, ensuring seamless integration of ICT and FFE within the campus.

Once completed, ECU City will foster a vibrant community of over 10,000 staff and students, positioning itself as a key player in Perth’s education sector and contributing to the city’s cultural and technological advancement. The campus will feature state-of-the-art facilities for disciplines like Dance, Aboriginal Performance, Musical Theatre, Acting, Music, and Production and Design at WAAPA, as well as creative industries programs in Broadcasting, Digital Journalism, Visual Arts, Design, and Communications from the School of Arts and Humanities.

Kurongkurl Katitjin, the university’s Centre for Indigenous Australian Education and Research, will also be located at ECU City, emphasizing the recognition and respect of Noongar culture and knowledge. The School of Business and Law will connect world-ready graduates with the CBD, enhancing an already highly-rated undergraduate program. Additionally, advanced technology and cybersecurity education will be offered through the School of Science, leveraging the university’s respected Security Research Institute, which addresses information warfare and cyber-enabled crime.

With approximately 60,000 sqm of GFA over multiple levels, ECU City will be a dynamic and multidisciplinary campus that enriches education and promotes cultural and technological progress in Perth.

Practical completion is set for late 2025, opening to students for the 2026 academic year.
