DCWC is excited to be providing Project Management support and Superintendent’s Representative services for the City of Kingston's largest-ever project - the Mordi Aquatic Centre.
This transformative community project, designed by architecture firm CO.OP Studio and to be constructed by ADCO, aims to promote the health and wellness for the City of Kingston’s community.
The Mordi Aquatic Centre will be situated on Governor Road, Mordialloc, next to Jack Grut Reserve.
The centre will provide swimming lessons, support for fitness enthusiasts, and resources for aspiring athletes. The modern, all-electric facility is designed with universal accessibility and environmentally friendly practices in mind and will include the following features:
Four pools: a 50m multi-purpose lap pool, a learn-to-swim pool, a warm water exercise pool, and a leisure pool
Spa, sauna, and steam room amenities
Comprehensive gym and fitness areas
A café, along with additional services like a foyer, changing village, and ample parking
A key highlight of this project is the comprehensive community consultation process, which involved the City of Kingston establishing a Community Reference Group and gathering over 10,600 submissions from residents. This engagement ensured that the design and facilities of the new centre were community-informed, effectively addressing the diverse needs of City of Kingston locals.
