The refurbishment and re-construction of existing pools and facilities to include;
Building Upgrade - Function Room, Public Toilets, Central Corridor, Customer Service, Point Of Sale System, Change Rooms, Kiosk, Staff Areas and External Awning Replacement.
Aquatic Upgrade – Plant Room Replacement and the complete replacement of all pool equipment and pipework systems, Siteworks, Main Pool Tiling, Main Pool Starter Blocks, Learners Pool Tiling, Learners Pool Viewing Area, Aquatic Play Space and Digital Clock.
Landscape Upgrade – Site Demolition, Landscape/BBQ/Seating, Kiosk Shade Structures, Wading Pool Removal, Pavement Demolition, Building Plumbing, Drinking Fountains and Fencing.
The upgraded Swimming Centre brings great benefit to the local community as it hosts more than 100,000 visitors per year. Currently 50 years old, the Centre has been and will remain a very valuable asset to the community.
The Swimming Centre received the 2015 Excellence in Recreation Planning Projects Award from Recreation SA.
