DCWC is providing Project Management and Contract Administration services for Melbourne Airport, leveraging significant infrastructure experience in this role.
The Taxiway Zulu project comprises construction of 300,000m2 plus of new pavements across new, extended and realigned taxiways in the north of the airfield enabling future expansion of the international terminal. The project also includes construction of the new Northern Access Route, incorporating security screening facilities, new airside perimeter security fencing and roads infrastructure, all being constructed by Fulton Hogan.
As the largest single airfield investment for Melbourne Airport since it’s opening in 1970, the new taxiway network will provide valuable additional capacity for aircraft traffic, improving the efficiency of movements on the ground as well as supporting the growth in Melbourne’s international connectivity.
In addition to the usual project management and contract administration services, DCWC’s role managing this project has included the coordination of the highly technical and complex operations and approvals requirements on the airfield, including construction staging and associated aircraft traffic impact modelling, OLS & PANS-OPS penetration approvals with Air Services Australia, CASA and the Department of Infrastructure, management of PFAS contaminated spoil and much more.
