Project overview

Client

Arup and Sunshine Coast Regional Council

Value

$2.2B

The cost plan was to cover the construction of the 23 km Light Rail system, including track, streetscape reconstruction, structures, stations, depots, rolling stock, electrification, and rail systems. An important component of cost was the consideration of the costs of the relocations of public utilities.

After first completing a rigorous cost plan, our team analysed each plan and route to design and build an options analysis tool. This tool allows every possible route map throughout the four precincts to be looked at and a detailed cost comparison for each produced.

This sort of complex tool only became possible because our team were clearly tuned into the end use of the information they were producing. This allowed them to deliver the information to SCRC in a simple yet sophisticated way that their teams could all use, thus delivering an outstanding result for both the client and the community.
