Designed by Cox Architecture and constructed by ADCO, DCWC provided full Quantity Surveying services for the project from inception to completion.
The new Precinct is located on the site of the former Council administration building at 257 Crawford St, with the main goal of consolidating Council staff who were previously spread across 11 buildings throughout Canberra's CBD. The project scope included:
Two towers with 3 and 5 levels above ground and a mezzanine.
Connections to Bicentennial Hall and improved access to The Q theatre.
Approximately 6,500 m² of public realm.
About 1,450 m² of community space.
Roughly 2,350 m² of commercial space, partially leased to the NSW Government.
Approximately 4,000m² dedicated to council administration, including a shopfront and public library space that integrated service desks and staff areas into the head office.
Meeting rooms and breakout spaces for receptions and conferences.
Lettable commercial space initially available for rental return and later for future QPRC growth.
A gallery connecting the office building to Bicentennial Hall and Q Theatre.
About 100 car spaces for office and public basement parking.
A rooftop garden.
The QCCP underwent extensive planning and community engagement, leaving a lasting impact on the Queanbeyan CBD. It targeted a 5-Star Green Star Design & As-built rating (v1.3) and a 5-Star NABERS Energy Commitment Agreement.
