National Museum of Australia

The National Museum of Australia was delivered under an Alliance framework between DOCITA, the ACT Government, ARM-RPVHT, Bovis Lend Lease, Tyco International, Honeywell and Anway & Company.

The Acton Penninsula Development comprises of two main buildings, The National Museum of Australia (NMA) and The Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS).

The NMA consists of such functional spaces as the main hall, permanent and temporary exhibition spaces, theatres and studios, café and restaurant and office accommodation. The AIATSIS consists of office accommodation, library, research facilities, public exhibition space, and storage facilities.

Donald Cant Watts Corke was engaged as the independent Cost Advisor to the Commonwealth. Our role included cost advice and assessment on site selection, architect selection, alliance selection, establishment of project budget and brief.

Donald Cant Watts Corke also cost planned the Exhibition Fitout works for the Action Peninsula Alliance.
