DCWC delivered expert Quantity Surveying for Lycée Condorcet de Sydney’s expansion, ensuring cost management and financial planning for a modern, student-focused campus.

DCWC proudly provided comprehensive Quantity Surveying services throughout the entirety of the Lycée Condorcet de Sydney expansion project. From the project's inception to its completion, our team ensured cost management, financial planning, and value alignment for the French school's ambitious vision. This project involved substantial additions to the Lycée Condorcet campus, designed to accommodate the school's growing student population while enhancing its community's educational experience and quality of life.

The expansion’s architectural concept was a standout feature, blending French architectural principles with the Australian environment. The collaborative efforts of Lyon-based Segond Guyon Architectes, and Sydney-based Raffaello Rosselli  Raffaello Rosselli and Luigi Rosselli Architects ensured a seamless integration of the new structures with the existing campus, creating a cohesive yet contemporary result.

The design focused on continuity and consistency, achieving harmony with existing buildings while introducing modern elements. Key design features included maintaining the original typology, materiality, and rhythm of the façade, as well as preserving the continuous parapet line and aligning the new volumes with the scale and form of the existing structures. The resulting façade achieved a balanced blend of homogeneity and articulation, providing the school with a distinctive and familiar identity.

A critical component of the project was addressing the needs of the onsite childcare centre. Previously, the centre faced challenges such as limited sightlines, weak connections to the external play area, and subtle physical barriers that impacted outdoor interactions. The new design resolved these issues by fostering stronger connections between indoor and outdoor spaces, creating opportunities for meaningful engagement with the world. The improved outdoor play area now serves as a model of social sustainability, encouraging interaction and providing shared benefits for the school community and surrounding neighbourhood.

DCWC’s role was pivotal in the success of this project. We delivered both pre- and post-contract QS services, ensuring the project remained financially viable while meeting the design intent. Our expertise in cost control and procurement contributed to high-quality outcomes that balanced value with functionality. By managing the budget at every stage, we enabled the client to achieve their goals of creating a modern, student-focused campus while respecting financial constraints.

Ultimately, this project stands as a testament to thoughtful design, collaborative partnerships, and expert cost management. It showcases how DCWC’s Quantity Surveying services can bring ambitious visions to life.
