The expansion to the existing hospital includes 128 multi-day beds, six new operating theatres, a 12 bed Intensive Care Unit, day surgery centre, expanded pathology, pharmacy, support services and education centre.

As part of this project, Donald Cant Watts Corke provided health advisory and cost planning services during the masterplan, feasibility and bid phases.

Following successful negotiation of the construction contract, we were appointed by the financiers to provide certification services.

Our team worked with the State in the planning and briefing of the Casey Hospital Expansion project.

This involved extensive stakeholder engagement with the State of Victoria and the health service provider as well as the PPP operator to develop integrated planning to best deliver an expanded service with revised models of care and new models for the delivery of support services.

As a major augmentation to an existing PPP project this included the development of an Output Specification for the facility and its operational requirements.

The Donald Cant Watts Corke planning input and stakeholder consultation resulted in DCWC providing recommendations that resulted in significant area savings and reduction of operational risk which benefited the State from both a Capex and Opex position.
