Donald Cant Watts Corke developed an overarching SAMF to align all future ACT Health asset management and sustainability work to the Corporate Strategy and a best practice asset management approach.

DCWC has worked with ACT Health since 2016 on a range of integrated strategic asset management and sustainability projects.

We initially developed an overarching SAMF to align all future assets and sustainability initiatives to the Corporate Strategy and a best practice approach. This included a review of ACT Health’s asset management capability against a best practice specification, PAS 55.

We subsequently developed Strategic Asset Management Plans for Canberra Hospital, Calvary Hospital, Community Health Facilities and the entire asset portfolio. We worked with ACT Health to develop KPIs for energy, carbon, water and waste reductions leading to a new governance approach to tracking and reporting on sustainability performance.

An additional benefit of our work included documented ownership and lease arrangements for all built assets and provision of a robust governance framework to ensure a stronger approach to their ongoing management.

We facilitated the application of a robust Risk Management Framework over ACT Health’s built assets, providing a formalised and prioritised risk management approach to its built infrastructure.

Our work led to the redesign of project communication across the ACT Health with our recommended ‘Project on a Page’ innovation.
