Forensic Mental Health Service Plan

CLIENT:Department of Health

SECTOR:Health

DURATION:October 2013 - May 2014

The Health Advisory team at Donald Cant Watts Corke developed a Service Plan for an enhanced Forensic Mental Health System for Victoria. The forensic mental health system serves peopleacross the State with a mental illness who are in, or have had contact with, the criminal justice system.

The Forensic Mental Health system functions through multiple groups: the Victorian Departments of Health and Justice, private prison service providers and community groups. This complex project required a strategic approach to find solutions that were accepted by both the health and justice systems.

The Health Advisory team facilitated the mapping of patient flows through the system, and developed a demand model examining three scenarios of projected future demand for forensic mental health beds.

"Quote here about something related to the project, could be a few lines long or maybe just two lines long to keep it simple."
