These light rail routes were plotted through a variety of different terrains, including elevated viaduct sections, tunnels under intersections and substantial reinforced earth retaining structures.
Each route presented differing challenges in costing light rail stations along each route, underpass and overpass options for vehicle traffic, creek crossings, and earthworks excavation alongside deep cuttings on Smith Street.
