Managing Director, Infrastructure

Donald Cant Watts Corke has always been proud of its involvement in the research and laboratories space. Right from inception, our company has had a prominent role in the Parkville precinct, north of Melbourne, and worked on several Victorian projects – across quantity surveying and project management - including world-class facilities such as the Brain Centre, Peter Doherty Institute, New Horizons Centre and Monash University and the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research (WEHI).

WEHI in particular, affiliated with the Royal Melbourne Hospital, has a laboratory which links research outcomes with clinical practices to accelerate discoveries for health and disease; over 100 clinical trials based on discoveries made at this institution are currently underway, with many more patented internationally and which have been commercialised.

Outside of Melbourne, our team at Donald Cant Watts Corke undertook quantity services at the University of Ballarat to assist with building their teaching and laboratory facilities; as well as at Waurn Ponds near Geelong, to partner with Deakin University and their design team, to deliver a 7,750m2 state-of-the-art Centre for Advanced Design and Engineering Training (known as CADET).

Similarly, our NSW team worked on the Central Coast Medical School and Medical Research Institute affiliated with the University of Newcastle, providing ongoing estimates and reporting during various design phases of the proposed infrastructure redevelopment works at the Gosford Hospital Health and Wellbeing Precinct; while our SA team worked closely with the South Australian government to redevelop the Loxton Research Centre, which is a state-of-the-art research and innovation centre, integrating research, education, business and support functions to maximise the benefits of the South Australia Murray Sustainability Program (SARMS).

Whether it be quantity surveying, project management, advisory or any of our other services, our teams across Australia, are specialised in catering for your research and laboratory needs.
