Sky Road West Stage 2 at Melbourne Airport

Written by DCWC Team | May 29, 2024

Earlier this week, DCWC's Project Management team celebrated the completion of the Sky Road West Stage 2 Extension at Melbourne Airport.

The project extended the existing Sky Road to enable access to an additional 300,000m2 of developable land, and provides service infrastructure for future Melbourne Airport Business Park developments. The construction phase of the project lasted approximately 7 months and included:

  • Construction of approximately 500m of a two-way, single-lane road and associated street furniture;
  • Installation of HV and LV infrastructure;
  • Installation of stormwater drainage and a new sewer main;
  • Future provisions for data cabling and communication services; and
  • Placement of 150LM of carbon-reduced concrete along the pedestrian footpath. The footpath will be monitored with the intention of implementing more carbon-reduced concrete within the Business Park.

With Stages 1 and 2 of Sky Road West now complete, the team will be shifting their focus to the delivery of the Operations Road Extension. This extension will provide access to the Rohlig development, another DCWC project within the Melbourne Airport Business Park.
