RMIT University recently held its annual donor event to celebrate their philanthropic supporters.

Since 2016, DCWC has been a proud supporter of RMIT University by way of our annual RMIT x Donald Cant Watts Corke scholarship.  The cash scholarship is provided to a student from an under-represented community who is currently studying Construction or Project Management. To qualify for the scholarship, the student must be able to identify circumstances that significantly impacting their ability to study.  DCWC intentionally provides the scholarship in the form of cash so the recipient can put the money towards eliminating obstacles to their studies, such as rent, utilities and supplies.

In recognition of our ongoing support, colleagues from our Melbourne team were invited to attend RMIT's annual donor event at their Design Hub Gallery. The celebration event included a preview of the multi-media exhibition, To See Is To Change. Featuring two pieces of work by Mumbai-based studio, CAMP, the works showcase their dual approach, blending experimental film and archival animation to reimagine spaces and histories.

Bombay Tilts Down provides a unique perspective of Mumbai, captured with a 4K CCTV camera positioned atop a 36-floor building. This immersive experience engages viewers in an interactive exploration of the city below. Similarly, A Photogenetic Line curates images from The Hindu's archive in a non-linear sequence, inviting viewers to navigate historical events through an unconventional and politically charged montage.

Featuring speeches from Deputy Vice-Chancellor, International and Engagement and Vice-President RMIT, Saskia Loer Hansen and Dr. Shweta Kishore, Lecturer of Screen and Media, the evening also highlighted RMIT's international operations and was complemented with modern Indian catering.

Applications for the 2025 Donald Cant Watts Corke scholarship will open in August. Follow us on LinkedIn, and if you're a current RMIT student studying Construction or Project Management, visit RMIT's scholarship page for more information.
