Managing Director, Infrastructure

Capital Infrastructure is booming across the state of NSW, as both state and private developers rush to support the growing health needs of metropolitan and regional residents.

Previously the aging population been quoted as the push and pull factors for increasing health demands but, as our population expands, we are beginning to see the effects of multiple morbidities on healthcare providers.

This growth phenomenon is being felt across various consulting markets, as demand increases for specialist health advisors to facilitate the redevelopment of existing infrastructure and address heightened demand for new health campuses.

Leading NSW property and construction consultancy, Donald Cant Watts Corke has experienced this market growth first hand.

NSW Managing Director Chris Cusack noted that “our NSW office has grown substantially in the last 18 months to support the expanding health contracts of both Health Infrastructure NSW and private health developers.”

“Our ability to deliver the Wollongong Private Hospital from an idea through to reality, helped pave the way for future appointments; including Calvary Health’s Bruce Private Hospital, the Dexus St Leonards health and retail development, the proposed East Tower at Royal North Shore Hospital and Health Infrastructure’s Sustainable Hospital Car Park Investment Program.

“Our recent appointment to the delivery phase of the John Hunter NICU project and the Manning and Muswellbrook Hospital, is a clear indication of the strength of the NSW capital development market,” said Mr Cusack

“Such growth within our project portfolio would not have been possible without a highly skilled team of specialist Health Planning, Project Management and Cost Consultants who continue to deliver outstanding results on major projects across the state.”

“Mick O’Driscoll [pictured] has been integral to this growth; his dedication and commitment to delivering solutions in partnership with clients, stakeholders and users is well recognised amongst his peers. The result is not only delivering value for money an innovative outcomes but most importantly improving patient outcomes and maximising service delivery across various health campuses.

“Mick’s continued focus on patient and client benefits has seen him recently promoted to Associate Director, within our Project Management team,” said Mr Cusack

“Mick’s appointment as Associate Director is a timely recognition of his achievements to date and foreshadows his future potential and contribution to our works.”

Calvary Health’s National Development Manager, Angus Bradley, was extremely positive about the contribution Mr O’Driscoll had made to their capital infrastructure program, noting “Mick O’Driscoll is an insightful and diligent project management professional. It has been a pleasure to work with him on three major health and aged care projects.”

When asked about his contribution to the growth of capital infrastructure in the NSW health market, Mr O’Driscoll commented that his “focus has always been to form a partnership with our clients to implement positive changes in the health sector. We develop and implement best practice solutions and embrace advances in technology. It is this philosophy which has been the formula for success.”

Mr O’Driscoll noted that “Donald Cant Watts Corke is committed to helping build superior health care facilities for the people of New South Wales and would continue to work with all project stakeholders to ensure superior outcomes for all end users.”
