"Qualified in architecture and business management, James’ focus is on Project Management excellence. He is a highly experienced and committed individual with an impressive project portfolio spanning Australia, Europe and Papua New Guinea,” said Mr Bill Douglas, Managing Director, Queensland.

“James’ appointment enhances Donald Cant Watts Corke’s unique service offering that is emerging as a game changer in the Project Management and Cost Planning space.”

With comprehensive experience in the education, health and aviation sectors, our Queensland team is expanding to provide more specialised services in commercial, retail, defence, infrastructure, data centres, aged care and student accommodation.

“In Queensland, we are continually looking to differentiate our service offering by promoting fully integrated Project Management, Design Management and Cost Planning services. We also bring substantial contractor-based know-how to the table as part of our combined offering, something our clients genuinely value,” explained Mr Douglas.

Mr Tucker enhances this offering with over 25 years of experience working in tier 1 construction companies on major commercial and institutional projects. This is combined with more than 30 years of experience in senior design and project management roles leading multidisciplinary teams.

“James has an approach to problem solving that generates smarter project outcomes and enhances clients’ bottom-line performance,” added Mr Douglas.

In his jacket lives a reminder for generating smarter outcomes and avoiding wasted effort:

“A key ring from my time with Thiess’ Innovation Programme is engraved with a question we should all pause and ask when starting a new project or initiative,” ventured Mr Tucker. It says, “Am I solving the right problem?”

“The smartest solutions are often generated from a unique response to two

or more seemingly irreconcilable criteria…Persistence in this pursuit is the key,” added Mr Tucker.

James’ is a highly experienced, committed individual with an impressive project portfolio in the Aviation, Technology, Defence, Judicial, Retail, Commercial and Education sectors.

“My passion is in creating high performing teams that understand that service reinvention and responsive solutions must be the norm when delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients,” said Mr Tucker.

“With re-emerging growth in Queensland, working with Donald Cant Watts Corke and their transforming team was an opportunity too good to resist.”
