Managing Director, Infrastructure

August 2018

Three months into the revitalisation of Donald Cant Watts Corke’s Infrastructure team, we are pleased to provide this progress update including achievements and new additions to the team.

We are currently assisting the Consortia in delivering some of Melbourne’s major infrastructure projects; and are also expanding into New South Wales, assisting leading government agencies with transport technology upgrades.

With a buoyant infrastructure market across all states and territories, it is an exciting yet challenging time for our team. We have started to experience first-hand, the real issues facing the industry, which include:

  • Price hikes due to pressures on major commodities; and
  • Pressures on professional resources as organisations scramble to join state-side, contractors and financiers.

We are approaching these issues proactively, by exploring programs and initiatives, in conjunction with the Victorian and NSW Governments.

This month, Donald Cant Watts Corke became members of Roads Australia who are partnering with CareerSeerkers – a not-for-profit organisation supporting asylum seekers and refugees through employment opportunities in their profession of choice.

We have partnered with CareerSeekers to sponsor Bassam Goreal, a qualified professional with a Bachelor in Information Technology from Iraq. Bassam has experience in the Petroleum Sector and previously ran a supply services business. We welcome him to our Engineering Services team and are confident that he will gain valuable experience as he works on landmark projects in Melbourne.

Additionally, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Quynh Hoang, who joins our Engineering Services team as a mature graduate. Quynh has a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from Monash University.

Donald Cant Watts Corke Infrastructure is excited and optimistic about this phase of our business. We look forward to further positive contributions, while continuing to work with our valued public and private sector clients. Look out for updates through our regular monthly report.
