Written by DCWC Team | September 17, 2019

The Fortitude Valley State Secondary College will form a newly constructed vertical school, located at St Pauls Terrace and Brookes Street in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. The project is being developed in two Stages, with Stage 1 currently underway.

DCWC has been engaged by the Queensland Government- Department of Education to provide Project Management services for the innovative education project.

The school will offer enrolment relief for Kelvin Grove State College and increase secondary schooling capacity in Brisbane’s inner north.

Hutchinson Builders has been appointed to undertake the Stage 1 of construction. The scope includes:

  • Refurbishment of existing building to provide a learning and music centre, forming part of the Performing Arts Centre (PAC)
  • New-build Performing Arts Centre (PAC)
  • New-build General Teaching Building (Building 1)
  • Design only for new-build sports facility (DC)
  • Lawn area

This month the team continued to progress with the development of the new junior learning building (Building 1).

Fortitude Valley State Secondary College is set to open its doors in January 2020.
