Donald Cant Watts Corke (DCWC) is pleased to announce an extension of its 20 year association with the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research (WEHI), with a pledge to commit $100,000 over the next three years.
DCWC was involved with the initial development and construction of the Institute in 1981, providing quantity surveying and cost advisory services and once again with its subsequent redevelopment in 2012. DCWC also provided quantity surveying services for their crèche facility, completed in 2017.
Since 2016, DCWC has donated $100,000 to the Institute and is pleased to extend its commitment for another $100,000.
The 2020-2023 commitment will go to support the Institute’s pancreatic cancer research, which utilises cutting-edge organoids technology. Pancreatic cancer is currently the fifth most common cause of cancer deaths in Australia and this research will provide better methods of detection and more effective therapies in pancreatic cancer.
DCWC's pledge will support Dr Tracy Putoczki and her dedicated team. Dr Putocski is a Laboratory Head within WEHI’s Personalised Oncology division and is leading promising research in pancreatic cancer using cutting-edge organoids technology.
Glenn Corke, Managing Director, who has been the initiator of DCWC’s partnership with WEHI commented “I am personally proud of DCWC’s continued association with the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute by providing funding for breakthrough cancer research and supporting the crucial work it undertakes”.
