2018 Scholarship recipient announced

Written by DCWC Team | October 30, 2017

Congratulations to Grace for being awarded the RMIT Donald Cant Watts Corke Scholarship for 2018.

Awarded each year in October at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) Annual Construction Industry Awards, the scholarship enables a student - who is from an under-represented group in our industry - to pursue their studies, knowing they have the financial support to help them achieve their educational goals.

Iseoluwa, known as Grace by her peers, is currently studying a Bachelor of Applied Science (Construction Management) (Honours) at RMIT University in Melbourne and will be entering her third year of this course in 2018.

Born in Nigeria, Grace has lived in Australia for almost a decade. She immigrated with her family, however
they  are based in rural NSW.

"My passion for construction is not purely for the sake of success but because of the potential impact I believe I can make if I am successful," says Grace. "My real hope is that one day I can go back to my home country of Nigeria and make an impact with what I plan on learning over the years."

"My favourite part of the construction industry is how many pathways are available."
