This crucial link will enable passengers to travel by rail from Brisbane to the Gold Coast strip and beaches.

Donald Cant Watts Corke provided cost and P90 risk adjusted estimates for the three routes as developed.  These light rail routes were plotted through a variety of different terrains, including elevated viaduct sections, tunnels under intersections and substantial reinforced earth retaining structures.

Each route presented differing challenges in costing light rail stations along each route, underpass and overpass options for vehicle traffic, creek crossings, and earthworks excavation alongside deep cuttings on Smith Street.

A feature of the study included evaluating an option to build a new heavy rail/light rail station/bus interchange south of Helensvale.

Donald Cant Watts Corke provided the cost input to select the best economical route.
