Thursday 3 May 2018, NATIONAL -

Donald Cant Watts Corke today announced the appointment of Mr Shayne Taylor as a new Director in Sydney, to support the business’ expanding NSW team.

Mr Taylor is a veteran of the Quantity Surveying industry with over 34 years of experience, across all major sectors, including aviation, retail, mixed use developments, aged care, residential, commercial, tertiary education, sport and recreation and health.

“He has extensive experience across a breadth of sectors, and in particular complex projects,” said Mr Chris Cusack, Managing Director NSW / ACT.

“This is combined with his significant experience in property tax depreciation, cost planning, risk assessment, quality control, acting for development funders and client engagement,” added Mr Cusack.

Starting in Sydney in 1984, Mr Taylor's career over the last three decades, has spanned New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland providing a full suite of Quantity Surveying services on nationally significant projects. Some of these include:

  • Breakfast Point residential development, Sydney
  • Rollout of ALDI stores and various Distribution Centres in Queensland, Victoria and NSW
  • Watermark residential development, Pyrmont, Sydney
  • Forum development, St Leonards, Sydney – residential, retail, commerical
  • Deakin University Woolstores campus, Geelong
  • Geelong Football Club, Brownlow Stand
  • Kiaora Lands redevelopment (Woolworths), Double Bay, Sydney
  • Building X, Ultimo – warehouse conversion to commercial

Since 2002, Mr Taylor has worked as a Director elsewhere; and has been passionate about using his experience to develop the next wave of Quantity Surveyors, implementing structured training regimes, endorsing cadet programs and being an advocate for quality assurance and high standards within the industry. He also has extensive experience in business development and growing a small practice into a medium-sized enterprise, as well as the establishment of core processes to increase business efficiency and operational effectiveness.

“Our NSW team has grown significantly in recent years. To accommodate this, we have appointed Shayne Taylor as a new Director, to ensure our leadership team provides the support and mentoring necessary to cater for our clients’ and team members’ needs,” explained Mr Cusack.

“He is highly regarded and well respected in the Quantity Surveying world, as well as within industry and amongst sector peers.”

“We are delighted Shayne has decided to join our team at Donald Cant Watts Corke and look forward to realising the value he will bring to our clients,” added Mr Cusack.

Donald Cant Watts Corke prides itself in its national strength, local knowledge, relationships with stakeholders, and being appointed as trusted advisors based on the people we contribute to a project.

“Taking on the additional Director role at Donald Cant Watts Corke is an exciting career move; one that is strongly aligned with my passion and values,” said Mr Taylor, NSW Director.

“I look forward to continuing to support the property and construction industries in Sydney and the wider NSW region, as well as the opportunities that will arise from taking on this senior leadership role with Donald Cant Watts Corke.”
