New Royal Adelaide Hospital
This $1.85billion dollar PPP delivered project, is the single largest infrastructure project in South Australia's history.
The new Royal Adelaide Hospital will provide tertiary level services, including the full range of complex medical, surgical, diagnostic and support services. Key state-wide services will be provided at the hospital, including major burns, trauma, spinal, renal transplantation, neurosurgery, complex vascular and hyperbaric medicine. It comprises 800 beds, 267 treatment spaces and 40 theatres.
The new hospital will replace the existing Royal Adelaide Hospital which opened in 1840. The architectural design will ensure that all rooms have access to natural light and easy access to internal gardens on balconies and the roof. The hospital is designed to create a positive healing environment for patients, while maintaining a positive working environment for staff.
Scheduled to be completed in 2016, DCWC are proud to have worked on two phases of the new Royal Adelaide Hospital project.
