Queensland Performing Arts Centre
DCWC provided complete quantity surveying services on the $37 million upgrade of the Queensland Performing Arts Centre. The first major refurbishment since the centre’s completion in 1985, this project entailed extensive building works, including meeting disability access standards, and major improvements to the lighting, sound and technical systems.
The Lyric Theatre and Concert Hall received significant upgrades with the replacement of 2400 seats, additional wheelchair locations, new stages, new food and beverage bars and onsite catering facilities.
The foyers were also greatly enhanced with extensive re-configuration of the central stair and lobbies. A new entry statement was created to the Grey Street Southbank entrance and an outdoor dining area and bistro added to the Melbourne Street courtyard.
