Staff Profile - Hayley Milne
Currently studying a Bachelor of Construction Management and Economics, having previously studied an Advanced Diploma Building Design (Architectural) - where she received the BDAV Student Award for Building Design, Hayley joined Donald Cant Watts Corke as a Cadet in 2015.
"I decided to join the cadet program, hoping it would put me in good stead for the future - consolidate my skills and expose me to environments where I would get to start managing my own projects."
She loves the dynamic mix of activities and that no day is ever the same. "You get out, what you put in; and if you work hard, people will notice and provide you with more opportunities to learn."
Hayley's suite of skills now includes measurement, cost planning, assessing variations, contract administration, valuation and asset management, as well as an appreciation for attention to detail.
She has been engaged in numerous challenging projects with a range of clients including Museums Victoria, Australian Defence (HMAS), Monash University, the City of Melbourne and BWEZ Stage 1.
Hayley's final words: "For anyone considering applying for the Cadetship, it is such a good opportunity. It allows you to combine theory and practice, as well as identify what you don’t know and what they can’t teach you at University."
